CADPOLE Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 We had a guy working here short term. :censored:One of his legacy’s he left is, on a substantial amount of drawings in the PKG he was working on, I get a AutoCAD Warning that says "the following shortcuts in the search were invalid and ignored: it gives the file location and "-Shortcut.Ink". The file it gives is a key plan that should not be attached to anything. It is not an xref or an attached raster image. I would like to detach the reference (if indeed that is what it is) from the files but I have no clue how. Anyone got any ideas? Quote
dbroada Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 no clues but I would try WBLOCK the entire drawing or SAVEAS DXF and then open the DXF and SAVEAS DWG. we had a similar guy here and have found redrawing his output to be time effective. Quote
BlackBox Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I get a AutoCAD Warning that says "the following shortcuts in the search were invalid and ignored: it gives the file location and "-Shortcut.Ink". That error message usually indicates something wrong with your SFSP, and not your former coworker... Essentially, the error message means that AutoCAD attempted to find you something, and arrived upon a shortcut (read a .LNK file) that points to a location (i.e., the Target Property of the .LNK file), that no longer exists... Fix that, or delete it, and the error message goes away. Quote
CADPOLE Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 I'll give the w block a try. The .LNK file is a short cut file it is gone but the link still exists and I'm not sure how to get ride of it. Quote
BlackBox Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 The .LNK file is a short cut file it is gone but the link still exists and I'm not sure how to get ride of it. Correct... There is a path somewhere in your Profile's Options, Files tab, that still points to that shortcut (which is why it is now invalid; it does not exist)... Find _that_ in Options, and either correct/remove it as you see fit... Only then will the error message stop. Quote
