RBPrice Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 Could someone plse point me towards some 3D people for 2013? Thanks a bunch. Quote
ReMark Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 There was a thread similar to yours about 3D people. I know as I took part in the discussion. I think a couple of our forum members actually uploaded and attached either DWG or ZIP files. You'll have to do a search of the site and see if you can locate the thread. Quote
RBPrice Posted May 10, 2013 Author Posted May 10, 2013 Did a search ReMark and no luck. But thanks for trying. Quote
Cad64 Posted May 10, 2013 Posted May 10, 2013 I think this may be the thread ReMark was referring to: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?42033-3d-man-block Quote
RBPrice Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 That does seem to lead to a site but I can't seem to figure out how to down load it and besides, it was Euro 130.00 which is approx. $169.00 I have a design for a very simple, elegant and efficient wooden park bench and would like to put a seated person on it to verify its proportions. Thanks Cad64 Quote
Cad64 Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Looks like there may be some free 3D CAD people here: http://www.cadforum.cz/catalog_en/?cat=14 And here: http://cben.net/ Quote
RBPrice Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 Well that didn't work too well: the two guys sitting at a table were just silloettes and the file tried to mess up my file. It late, I am tired and want to do something else. Thanks again for all the responses. Cheers Bob Price Quote
ReMark Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 I can probably find the cad file for the 3D person I posted an image of in the thread Cad64 provided the link too if you are still interested. Quote
RBPrice Posted May 11, 2013 Author Posted May 11, 2013 My mother taught me to never say no to a generous offer. Thanks Quote
hmsilva Posted May 11, 2013 Posted May 11, 2013 Here I can get some free 3d models, some good, others not so much... http://www.archibase.net/gdl?category=27 HTH Henrique Quote
RBPrice Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 Well I managed to download some people, extract from the group a sitting woman and tried to insert it into my drawing. A zoom extents showed my model shrunk down to a very small size so I thoght the image was to metric scale and converted it to inch scale but still could not get the image to appear. Any suggestions Henrique? Thanks Quote
hmsilva Posted May 14, 2013 Posted May 14, 2013 when I have a new model, first I modify the model "units/size" because sometimes the models come with "weird" units, some are in millimeters, but with incorrect sizes... I Use the scale command to fix the models height... hope that helps Henrique Quote
RBPrice Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 My problem Henrique is that I cannot get the image to appear when inserted into my drawing. It is OK when looked at in its own file, but the Insert command does not seem to work. Bob Quote

After inserting de model, type ZOOm -> O -> L will do a zoom to the last object in the dwg, hopefully it will be the model... Henrique Quote
RBPrice Posted May 14, 2013 Author Posted May 14, 2013 OK Henrique - the problem was that the image was way too small not too big. I had to scale her up 5.5X to get her to be about right. So now I can see that the bench is about right for an average person. Muito Obrigado Bob Quote
