byk3bep Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Hello all. I would like to know if it is possible to create more then one shortcut key profile in acad2011. Don't know if this was too clear so... I need more then one acad.pgp file with different configurations that i can load via express => tools any time I want. Tried to make a copy and name it acad1.pgp, acad2.pgp, etc... but when I start up express tools, cmd editor, the option file => open does not give me the result I was hoping for. Does nothing actually, just allows me to view the shortcut configurations in the particular file. Hope that this explains my predicament THX FOR ALL YOUR HELP ) Quote
MSasu Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 If you change the names of system files, they will be no longer recognized. But you already saw that. You will need instead to define dedicated support folders for your profiles; please check in OPTIONS --> Files --> Support Files Search Path. Each of those folders will store a version of acad.pgp. byk3bep Posted May 19, 2013 Author Posted May 19, 2013 Pure genius thx a lot! Now a follow up... When I start express tools => cmd editor and load the acad.pgp file the list starts of like this: 3A 3DARRAY 3A 3DARRAY 3A 3DARRAY 3A 3DARRAY 3A 3DARRAY 3A 3DARRAY 3AL 3DALIGN .... There seem to be a big number of duplicates. I tried to get rid of them buy importing another acad.pgp file but it did nothing, no replacing of the duplicates accrued. What is up with that? How can i fix this, it's annoying Thx for your thoughts Quote
BIGAL Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Myabe use lisp defuns you can then change definitions at will can have a whole lot in 1 lisp (;lisp 1 (defun C:AA() (do the aa function) ) ) (; lisp2 (defun C:AA() (do the other aa function now) ) ) Quote
RobDraw Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 What is happening is all of those .pgp files are now loading. I think you need to set up different profiles that point to only one of those. I'm not sure if simply switching profiles within an AutoCAD session will switch the .pgp file. AutoCAD may need to be restarted. This may require having to create a different shortcut for each of those profiles. I don't have time to test this out but if you give it a shot, let us know if it works. Out of curiosity, why are you trying to do this? Quote
dbroada Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 I'm not sure if simply switching profiles within an AutoCAD session will switch the .pgp file. AutoCAD may need to be restarted. You can REINIT a pgp file without having to restart AutoCAD. Quote
RobDraw Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 Thank you dbroada. I learned something today, now I can go home and it's only 7:00 AM. Quote

byk3bep Posted May 22, 2013 Author Posted May 22, 2013 Out of curiosity, why are you trying to do this? I am working on a computer witch is being used buy others... This is the reason to make my own shortcut cmd list. I have no experience with lisps. I am not confident in pulling it off The other solutions did not work. The REINIT cmd seemed to do nothing... I deleted the other .pgp files but still have a great number of duplicates Quote
dbroada Posted May 22, 2013 Posted May 22, 2013 to continue from MSasu's start I would give each user their own dedicated folder with one pgp file in it. ENSURE there were no other pgp files in other folders. Now each new user creates their own profile with their own pgp folder in the support file list. That way each profile looks for its own pgp file. You can create different desktop shortcuts for each profile if wanted. Quote
byk3bep Posted May 23, 2013 Author Posted May 23, 2013 Now that's the solution I was looking for thx a lot guys However there is the annoying issue of the multiple cmd's. Have no clue why this should be happening. I deleted all the .pgp files and left only the original but this had no effect on the duplicates. If I find a solution I'll post it, but I'm a skeptic when it comes to this one. Anyway, thanks again Quote
