Okay, a wire number question...

My company is moving away from using wire numbers and going with a point to point wire label system. My question is this:

 

When I go into the Create/Edit Wire Type dialogue box, I have the option of turning off wire numbering for the wire types, but when I try to change it to the "No" option (in order to prevent wire numbering), the dialogue box won't save that change. Is there a way to turn off wire numbering entirely?
