Arokain Posted July 1, 2013 Posted July 1, 2013 Hi everyone I am new here and I have a small problem that I hope you can help with. I have tried many of the sort of solutions I can find in threads here but none seem to do what I want. ie facetres = 10, viewres = 20000, isolines = 2047 etc. Below is a PDF'ed image of the problem As you can see the pipe end is very jagged, just the viewport of the pipe comes out acceptable see below Now if only I could plot the second one in the first i'd be happy. Any suggestions ? Regards Quote
ReMark Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 Did you come up with a solution to your problem yet? Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Not yet, I decided to work on something else waiting for an epiphany. I do have them from time to time when I am not thinking about the problem. Quote
ReMark Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I abhor the use of PDF files especially as it pertains to the CAD community so I was not surprised to read of your problem. How long does it usually take for an epiphany to be experienced generally? I take it you are doing this PDF creation solely through AutoCAD and you are not using Adobe Acrobat. Is that correct? Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Correct. The problem isn't just the pdf's. It happens even when I print a paper copy to. That is why I think it's an autocad problem not a plotter setting problem. Epiphany's are general every couple of days (I have that many problems ) Quote
ReMark Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 You might want to find out what other system variables affect the plotting of 3D objects. An epiphany every couple of days? You lead an exciting life! Try seeing if setting FACETRES to a value of 10 does anything to make your rounded edges appear smoother. Note that the ISOLINES setting affects wireframe views but not the Hide or Render commands. What setting are you currently using for the variable SPLINESEGS? Quote
PotGuy Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I don't think I've had a CAD epiphany yet, let alone in day to day life! Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 The most annoying thing is the preview of the plot is fine. Hummm that implies it's a plotter setting not an autocad problem. Arrrrrrggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!! Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 facetres was already 10. I am currently playing with the plotter config to see if that is anything to do with it Quote
JD Mather Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 I am currently playing with the plotter config ... Try this one If that doesn't work, can you attach example file here? Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 I tried that one already JD, no joy there either. I even upped the DPI to 1200 and that didn't work. Hummm I cant get the upload to work, It just hangs when trying to upload the dwg file Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Ahhh that'll be why I cant post it. the file size is 3meg I can only upload files of 1meg Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 Even stripping the file down to the minimum and zipping it I can only get it to 2.8meg Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 I'd be happy to email it to you if you send me an email address Quote
ReMark Posted July 2, 2013 Posted July 2, 2013 You'll have to upload it to DropBox or a similar such site then. Quote
Arokain Posted July 2, 2013 Author Posted July 2, 2013 https://www.dropbox.com/sh/sa5d8gc83e3j1pl/-FHhsmg4s9 That should get you to it Quote
