K4D Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Ok i've modeled this rubik's cube and It wont spin even though (i'm pretty sure) i've constrained it properly Been stuck on it for a while so would appreciate it if someone would look at it and see if I did mess up something I can't post websites so I jsut attached the link to the download in a .txt it's 1.07mb or somethign so i couldn't upload it here the file in question is Cube_3.iam thanks in advance, K4D website.txt Quote
Lazer Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Won't let me download it ? Got it! just having a look. Your model is great well done, I really think (having a quick look) the contraints are the problem, to solve it may be a bigger problem (no pun intended) I will have aplay with it and see what I can do, I would like to hear from JD, Aardvark and Swift to see what they think to making this work? K4D Posted November 20, 2008 Author Posted November 20, 2008 Thanks, used my trusty ruler and took apart my own cube =) tried to get it as realistic as possible, but yeah the constraints are a nightmare, have had to redo them 3 times so far hence Cube_3 lol I just don't want to have to keep redoing them without someone else giving me advice on it as i seem to always mess it up Quote
Lazer Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 I will need to take it apart the redo the constraints with angle constraints, then drive the angle constraint to 90 degree a time, this is the only way I think it will work, it's quite complex but would be wicked to see it working. Quote
JD Mather Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Your sketches are not constrained - I would start here http://home.pct.edu/~jmather/AU2007/MA105-1L%20Mather.pdf Quote
K4D Posted November 21, 2008 Author Posted November 21, 2008 I don't have inventor on this computer but I was fairly sure I had my sketches constrained... and reading through that tutorial doesn't look like anything too new to me so not sure where you want me to start in there, it's a nice tutorial though!
