notview Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 Help!! I can not view/used the quick calculator of my Cad in Properties Dialog box. It is always hanging. Any idea how to fix this problem?? Quote
welldriller Posted July 12, 2013 Posted July 12, 2013 No but if all you need is a regular calculator you could do as i do. bring up the calculator in Microsoft Windows, click the minimize button an it is always ready to use by clicking 0n "calculator" at the bottom of the screen and when done just click minimize to continue working in Autocad. This may not do what you want but it works for me. Quote
Dadgad Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I greatly prefer using the Quick Calculator accessed from the right click shortcut menu, or '_quickcalc . Sorry I don't know how to help you with the other one. Quote

Hi Dadgad I use the right click button as an enter key, works better for me !o! do not have the advantage that are in civil 3D and the newer programs. Just thought that that might be a work around for a while for op. Quote

Just thought that that might be a work around for a while for op. welldriller, that was actually directed to the OP, rather than you. I dislike those little built in calculators in the properties and quick properties boxes. I also enjoy using my right click for ENTER, but I have enabled TIME SENSITIVE right clicking, which means I get right click shortcut menus as a bonus. Quote
notview Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 For me, quick calculator in quick properties is very useful. By command "QUICKCALC" is okay, but my problem is in Quick Properties, no longer working, it caused hanging my Cad. What should I do to fix it? Quote
JD Mather Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 1. have you rebooted the computer and the problem persists? 2. have you installed all Service Packs, Hot fixes and Updates (whatever Autodesk calls them) for your product? 3. have you tried a Repair install? Quote
notview Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 nice suggestion JD Mather, I will try to reinstall or repair it.. Quote
mikekmx Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 haven't they sorted the calculator out yet? i gave up with it on week 2.....15 years ago all it ever did was nothing, or crash the computer Quote
Chilidawg Posted July 22, 2013 Posted July 22, 2013 In my case, the first time I click on it, it takes about thirty seconds to load. I'm prety sure this is a hardware issue on my end. Layer manager and External Refrences managers sometimes take a while to start the first time as well. Quote
tzframpton Posted July 23, 2013 Posted July 23, 2013 I've never had any issues with the integrated AutoCAD calculator but I use it a lot for calculating imperial fractional architectural feet and inches and it's flippin' awesome! Quote
CADLee Posted July 24, 2013 Posted July 24, 2013 I remember taking a class where the instructor used a calculator in the command line. to help figure the length of a line. For instance, if you had a line that was 120' and you needed it to be another 12.5'. There is a way to type that in the command line to add the 12.5' to the 120'. It was something like......*cal 120' +12.5'. Does any one know how this is done, or can some one help me with this? Thank You. Quote
roxxxy Posted December 12, 2015 Posted December 12, 2015 Hi, i had the same issue with Autocad2014 on Win10 (64bits). I solved it by unlocking the floating windows. I hope you find my suggestion helpful! Bye Quote
