steps in exporting Autocad models to 3ds max design 2012.

I use Autocad quite well.... i model and do all sorts with the software. I have in the past been able to export autocad models to 3dsmax 9 but this is impossible with 3dsmax DESIGN 2012!!!. Are the steps that i need to following that i have omitted?

I would so much appreciate all tips that can help me....

You don't need to export anything from Autocad. Just Import your .dwg file directly into Studio Max. Take a look at this tutorial:
