richard3009 Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I have two drawing from different companies, both of which have attributed borders with tags, I double click on one companies border and go into the attribute editor as expected, the other one however when double clicked takes me straight into block editor, whats going on? rkent Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Maybe the one that goes to the block editor is a nested block of itself (could have been pasted in, etc), so explode it and see if you still have a border with proper attributes, double click on it now. Quote
ReMark Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Explode it first and see what happens when you double click. Oops, rkent got here first. Quote
RobDraw Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 My first guess was as rkent and ReMark suggested or maybe those attributes are text. Quote
richard3009 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 when the block is viewed in block editor not all of the text is tags, some is just mtext would this cause the issue. If i explode it all I get is the tag names where applicable, not all of the block is tagged. Quote
ReMark Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 You explode the drawing BEFORE opening it in the Block Editor and you should only have to do it once. Quote
richard3009 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 Yep tried that and it explodes as you would expect a normal attributed block to do so, its not a block within a block Quote
ReMark Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 Hmmmm....not what I was expecting. Would you mind sharing a copy of the drawing with us? Attach a copy of the DWG file to your next post if that wouldn't be any trouble. Quote
richard3009 Posted July 19, 2013 Author Posted July 19, 2013 I can't it's sensitive technical information more than my jobs worth. Quote
ReMark Posted July 19, 2013 Posted July 19, 2013 I see. Well unless you bring your car to the garage and let the mechanic look under the hood it's tough to diagnose that noise you're hearing every time you turn the steering wheel. We don't need the entire drawing just enough of it to see for ourselves the nature of the problem. You would be amazed at what some of our forum members can accomplish once they have a drawing they can play with. Quote
RobDraw Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 I agree. Remove the technical information and post the file. Quote
neophoible Posted July 21, 2013 Posted July 21, 2013 Did you verify that applying _eattedit via the command line works on the block the way double click should? Quote
