Mjsaee Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 I have been using version 2006. There is a button on the tool bar for quick leader. How do I put the quick leader button with the tool bars so don,t have to type "QLEADER" in the command window? Quote
Fire_col Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 The same way you get any other tool bar to appear. Right click in the tool bar area, select multileader from the list of toolbars. Quote
Glen1980 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 To encourage the use of Multi Leaders I think they hid the icon for Quick Leaders. Type cui find the quickleader command in the bottom left of the pop up window and drag it to the toolbar you want to put it on. Also have a play with multi leaders, I have found them to be a lot better than quick leaders for neatening my annotation. Of course if you only want an arrow Quick leaders are just as easy! BTW if you have people opening the drawings in old versions (pre 2008 I think) mleaders won't work. To save time I have set up a tool pallet for my quick leaders, this allows you to set the layer they come in on as well. I use this macro for arrows. ^C^C_-dimstyle an;yes;Arrows;yes;r;Arrows; This Macro sets the style to use arrows. ^C^Cdimldrblk;".";;;dimasz;2;;;_qleader This Macro starts the command and sets the size of the arrrows. and this one for dots ^C^C-dimstyle an;yes;Dots;yes;r;Dots; This Macro sets the style to use dots. ^C^C_dimldrblk;"_dot";;;dimasz;1;;;_qleader This Macro starts the command and sets the size of the dots. I like my dots to be a different size to my arrows so I have to have seperate commands. Quote
f700es Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Just change the acad.pgp file so all you have to type is "ql" for qleader. You will probably have to type "reinit" and select "PGP" if you do this with AutoCAD open. Quote
tzframpton Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 QLeader should be permanently removed from AutoCAD installs, in my opinion. Multileader is extremely functional and I highly recommend using them instead. Quote
Fire_col Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Just a point to the guys suggesting altering the CUI and running macros, the OP is running '2014 Light', so I'm not sure these will be possible. Quote

Fire_col Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Didn't realise that. I remember writing a macro for a mate running light, to be a fair this was in 2009, and he couldn't run it. Things have obviously changed, or he was an idiot Quote

Here's a PDF that outlines all of LT's possible customization's: http://exchange.autodesk.com/autocad/sites/default/files/autocadLT_pdf_cust-guide_enu_v2.pdf Basically, anything having to do with the development side of things is totally taken away OOTB. But AutoCAD still gives lots of free reign in customizing, as this document shows. Quote
Mjsaee Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 Thank you all. All good stuff. Glen1980, thanks for the extras. I do electrical construction drawings and my leaders are different on every note so quick leader gives me that flexibility. Multi leader is useless to me. The landing has to be different and the attributes for same are too restricting. Quote

Like I said, highly recommended! Give it a shot, you'll be glad you did. Quote

Just a point to the guys suggesting altering the CUI and running macros, the OP is running '2014 Light', so I'm not sure these will be possible. I wrote those Macro's back when I was using 2010LT, so I should hope they work! Altering the pgp will also work in LT but you have to find the file manually as there isn't a wizard. Thinking back you might be able to type in pgp into the command search bar in the 'A' button to shortcut to the .pgp Although you can create LISP files I did find a way of shortcutting to Macro's, create the macro as a command in the CUI, then drag the command into the keyboard shortcut panel then you can assign it a ctrl, ctrl+shift keyboard command! f700es Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 You know I have a copy of LT 2014. I should install so I can help trouble shoot. Quote
f700es Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I installed LT 2014 at lunch and it works. I just browsed to the PGP file, made the change with Acad open and ran the reinit command and all was good. Quote

f700es Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Well......."LE" doesn't make any sense as a shortcut for qleader. "QL" makes better sense Yeah, I got nothing on that. Quote
tzframpton Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 There's a different in LEADER and QLEADER, IIRC. Primarily, if you initiate Qleader, there's a ettings sub-option before you place your first pick. Quote
