Baber62 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Hi Everyone, I am doing road line marking drawings in particular yellow lines around corners. I can divide the line between arc and two connecting straight lines either end to determine the lengths, however, this is proving tedious. Is there anyway to say select the arc and the connecting straights and put the dimension as a single dimension on the drawing. Also I'd like to have a dimension line indicating the start and end of the line-arc-line. Thanks in advance!! Quote
Dadgad Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 You might want to look into using MULTILINES for this type of drawing, as you can create custom multiline definitions which would likely save you a lot of work. If you use arc dimensions they will stop at the end of the arc, as you are no doubt aware. Quote
neophoible Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 Post a DWG of what you are dimensioning and what you are hoping to see. Not everyone who codes knows the needs of a particular discipline. A DWG will be a great help in explaining. Quote
Baber62 Posted July 31, 2013 Author Posted July 31, 2013 @ Neophoible, I have found the solution it's on this forum at the following location: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?47105-autonumbering-and-lenght&highlight=plab There are two solution presented here one which does what I needed it to do which is to give the total length of the line i.e. the straight part plus the arc plus another straight part. The other also posted in the above link gives the individual lengths of the elements involved. Thanks for looking. Quote
