bracken2 Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 How do you insert title block, so your design is in the middle of block? Quote
nestly Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 Are you inserting the Titleblock into Modelspace, or Paperspace? If Modelspace, you either MOVE the title block so it's centered around the model, or move the model so it's centered within the titleblock If Paperspace, PAN or ZOOM until the model is centered (Zoom > Object works well to center the model, then use the Scale List to adjust the scale without moving the centerpoint of the view) Quote
bracken2 Posted July 30, 2013 Author Posted July 30, 2013 I'm working in model space, but I still can't get it center., what am I doing wrong? I insert block, but the design is always on the out side of title block. so I'm doing some wrong not sure what. Quote
nestly Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 A titleblock in modelspace is just like any other object in your drawing. You should just be able to MOVE it if it's not at the right place... or MOVE your design. Also, depending on the method you're using to insert the titleblock, you should be able to place it where ever you like. If you want to attach a sample drawing containing your titleblock, we'll be able to give you more specific instructions. Quote
JD Mather Posted July 30, 2013 Posted July 30, 2013 I recommend you start learning paperspace Layouts and have your borders set op on layouts and your titleblock placed as a Block. As suggested - attach your file here to see how it might be done with your file. Quote
CyberAngel Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 It sounds like the title block is intended for paper space. If it goes into model space at Inch scale, it will look like a postage stamp next to the model. For, say, a 10' scale plan, try scaling the title block at 120. Better yet, put it in paper space where it belongs. Quote
ReMark Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 You should be utilizing a paper space layout for your title block and border in conjunction with at least one paper space viewport. A viewport is like a window that allows us to see the objects we have created back in model space. Viewports can be assigned a scale. cosme017 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 I am in paper space, and I'm still trying to figure out how to get the title block to fit the screen. The title block is now in the middle of the drawing, but I'm not sure how to scale the title block to fit the screen. I have read about the viewports, but am I suppose to open another viewport just to insert a title block in paper space? Quote
rkent Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 You don't scale the title block, simply insert it in PS. Now use MVIEW command to create a viewport. Once made your model objects should be zoomed to fill the viewport. Double click inside the viewport so you are in the viewport, now use the Viewports toolbar to pull down and see available scales, pick the one you need for your drawing, if everything fits then you are all set. If not then pick a scale that will show all of your model. There is a scale select down to the bottom right as well that works for this if you don't have the viewports toolbar showing. Quote
Ski_Me Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 You need to know the size of your titleblock before you insert it. Measure your titleblock to see if it's an A size sheet, B Size so on and so forth. Once you know your titleblock size go to your page setup manger while in paper space (file-page setup manger) and select your paper size and autocad will create a paperspace for that titleblock size, then while still in paperspace insert your titleblock, grab the block by the lower left corner and move it to 0,0,0. Delete your viewport and create a new one or adjust the one you already have. I never liked trying to scale or stretch titleblocks cause it never works out like you think it will when you go to try and print it out. Something is always off and you end up pulling out the cutters to make it look good. Learning to use paperspace is the best thing you could do right now cause in the end the output you get if paperspace is setup properly will give you much less hassels. Quote
cosme017 Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Ok, I think I just got it. sorry. Scale looks like it is working. Quote
JD Mather Posted August 5, 2013 Posted August 5, 2013 Scale looks like it is working. Then something isn't right. You should not have to scale title block. As suggested - attach your file here and let's get this thing solved correctly (about 5 minutes work). Quote
