Greendamo Posted August 16, 2013 Posted August 16, 2013 Hi, Can you trim or break a line where it meets a 3d surface? i'm using Acad 2013. Thanks in advance. Damian Quote
SEANT Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I uploaded a tutorial to the Chronicle site that shows a technique for trimming a line to the surface of a 3D Solid. The technique works just as well for Shape Manager Surface entities. https://chronicle.autodesk.com/Main/Details/dc898211-ae17-4262-8421-1757fdba5c39 Quote

Chronicle is a nice touch, I'm just not sure how permanent the links will be? I know I saw a lisp that would BREAK 2D objects where they pierced a 3D objects (it may have only worked with planar surfaces/faces though).... can't seem to find it now though. Quote
SEANT Posted August 19, 2013 Posted August 19, 2013 I've used Chronicle a couple of times - there is a bit "value added" for AutoCAD above that of Jing. I don't know if the site will have the same staying power. I can say, though, that the writers are still actively developing the platform. Each time I've used it there has been refinement updates ready for install. Quote
