Hi everyone,

So here is my issue, not sure how it occurred. For our field layouts we simply copy and paste image from google earth then scale them (using CTRL + C and CTRL + V).

For some reason now, my image that was already pasted into a drawing now only shows the border of the image, not the image itself. Same story with any new images I try to paste in.

Anyone know how to fix this back so I can view my images?

Using AutoCAD 2008 also, I left that out

Make sure the image path is correct. If the name changed or got moved at all, it would show the border plus the path in the middle. Is the path showing in the middle of the border?

This is just a copy and paste deal, so the image is never saved anywhere on my computer.

Yes, it is linked if you just copy and pasted from Google Earth. Since now you have no image to link, blank border is the result.

To embed the image into AutoCAD you need to Copy and Paste from an Image Editor like MS Paint. You could also OLE, but you will need to create an image file.

Ok. I have done this with hundreds of other field drawings, copy and paste the image from Google Earth then scale with no issues of the image not displaying later. Are there any settings that would change the visibility of an OLE?

This one drawing is my only problem so I think I unknowingly changed a setting on accident.

me too,and mostly it's ok, but occassionally it just doesn't work.

sometimes i can copy & paste 1 image ok, but subsequent images pasted into the drawing are all weird unless i close autoCAD,reopen then paste.
