Publishing offset the layout to the right

Hi all,

It is my first post. I've been using autocad for quiet a few years, I can do most of what i want but I might be missing some basic knowledge. I've been creating some template for drawing which include different layout A4, A3, landscape and portrait.

If I use plot/print using cutepdf or adobepdf as a printer the results are good (print the same than the preview).

But when I use publish using dwg to pdf then my layout are shifted to the right outside of the printing boundary.

I'm not familiar with the page setup, add the moment it is set to "none"

Have you got some ideas?

A proper page set up is necessary for an accurate plot. Check you settings and report back.

Well, when your plotting make sure that the limits are set correctly and the page size is also set correctly. Plot it to the limits not extents. Other than that I don't know of anything else that would effect it. As for the page setup, you tweak all your settings til you get what you want by clicking the "add" button and then entering a name of your choice. After you have it saved on your template you can use that same page setup every time with ease.

I've almost managed to solve the problem.

When going into "page setup manager" and selecting "DWG to PDF.PC3" as a printer

There was a plot offset at the bottom of X=10.79mm and Y=5.79mm which was sending my layout off the printing limits.

I've put X=0mm and Y=0mm and it's good now.

So now it work! But I still don't understand how to use a saved page setup and how to create them. Do I need a page setup for each kind of layout (A4, A3portrait, A3landscape)? Do I need a different page setut for each layout (fig1,fig2)? Do I need a different page setup for print with printer and print to pdf?

Sorry I don't understand this bit much I need to look into it more.

Thanks for your answers so far, this a pointed me to a temporary solution.

Sadly you will need a different page setup for each different option. Unless you want to set them up manually each time that is. I'd just make a setup for the ones that I use most often and not bother with setups for the ones I don't use often. Oh, I forgot to welcome you to CAD Tutor so WELCOME. :D

Create them from the Page Set-up Manager by clicking new. Make as many as you need. Ideally you would have all of your page set-ups in the template file that you start your drawings with. They can also be imported from other files by right clicking on the layout tab and selecting import.

Thanks all for you help.

I've created some page setup in A3 and A4 for the plotter dwg to pdf.ac3 and it seems to work. Now I have done it for my template I shouldn't need to do it this again!
