Multileader Background Mask Option

I am pretty sure I am not blind but for the life of me I can't find a 'backgroud mask' on/off toggle in the 'Multileader Style Manager' in AutoCAD 2013. In the 'Dimension Style Manager' you can easily add a background to dimension text in there but it doesn't seem to be an option for a multileader style. Did AutoCAD actually miss this?!? If so that is a huge inconsistency. I want to have a multileader style preset in a template with the background text masks on. I hope it's not something that a user needs to go and first do their multileader, then afterwards have to go and manually turn the mask on via the properties pane. That sucks if that is the case.

Anyone know?

You're not blind, there is no option to have a background mask by default. No idea if it's intentional, or an oversite. I've heard others claim you can add an MLEADER with background mask to the Tool Palette, but I've not found this to work either.

The only method I know is to turn them on manually via the text editor, or use Properties/QuickProperties to turn on background mask after they're created.

Wow yeah that sucks man, thanks for the quick reply. Plans are to have them pre-build into a template but also able to apply off a palette. We have them set up corporately but sure enough, there doesn't seem to be a background mask pre-set to on option. Just such a disconnect between dims and leaders, how they missed that I have no clue, must be an oversight. Maybe there's a lisp that could be wrote into palette buttons to which can toggle masks from a current drawing aspect, I dunno. Anyway thanks again for the quick reply, much appreciated!

You have to add the background to it each time you place an mleader.
