CiCAD Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 It seems unlike previous PC's, when i sart up AutoCAD my new set up reverts the location of the tool palletes to open center to my screen 1 even after i have positioned it on screen two. I understand the tool palette should hold its location in the position i last placed it.. in screen two. as do you toolbars.... Why does the tool palette keep reverting back the center location on my screen, not where it was placed Quote
Dadgad Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Your tool palettes are considered to be either FLOATING or DOCKED windows , in your WORKSPACE. Once you have them where you want them, LOCK them with the lock icon next to your workspace settings. Should you then want to move them, you can either unlock them, or hold down the Ctrl key while repositioning them. I am assuming that you have SAVED your personal setting for your WORKSPACE, and that it should be your HOME WORKSPACE? Quote
nestly Posted September 20, 2013 Posted September 20, 2013 Definitely save your Workspace and "perhaps" lock your floating palettes as suggested above. If those fail, check your video software. ATI's Catalyst Desktop Manager has a setting to automatically reposition Dialog boxes at the middle of the screen. Quote
CiCAD Posted September 20, 2013 Author Posted September 20, 2013 It seems my WSSETTINGS was set to don not save work space. My palletes now remain in the position i have placed them after closing and opening AutoCAD Cheers Quote
CiCAD Posted September 22, 2013 Author Posted September 22, 2013 Ok Seems that it has reverted its location again!!!! Any other input into why this may be happening. Quote
nestly Posted September 22, 2013 Posted September 22, 2013 Palettes/toolbars are both Workspace and Profile specific, so my question is, are you using a different workspace, or a different profile? Profiles will save automatically when you leave the profile or close AutoCAD, but if you're using multiple workspaces, you have to save the arrangement for each of them individually. Quote
SLW210 Posted September 23, 2013 Posted September 23, 2013 Create a new profile and see if that works. Quote
