SCVTeerav
Greetings, Supreme programming noob here. We use a dynamic block with about 12 attributes for our drawings. One of the attributes, we would like to have a unique identifier generated for each particular instance of this block within a drawing, and several drawings if possible. So for instance, we have 620 instances of this block in a drawing, each one should have a unique identifier. Is there a way to utilize the block's "handle" within this particular attribute, so that it remains unique? Any help with the would be extremely appreciated. ASMI
There is sample of blocks with Field Attribute of the block Handle and block ObjectID (decimal entity number not Hex as Handle). To make the same result change Default Value of attribut inside of block editor (_BEDIT) to: %% or %%. Values will appears after first block insertion after changing (not in old block references). joshuahind
Hi, I've tried this and the Handle option works and does indeed give a unique hex ID to all my blocks. The other option however only gives me ---- when I assumed I would get a 4 digit ID. Any I approaching this wrong? Thanks, Josh
