Faouweb Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Hi, I have a drawing with 2 shape similar but not in the same Axis (20mm down), I have used Mirror but now i don't know how to move it down as you can see in the picture: Is it possible Part selected? I know is better to use Assebly but we need to make an iPart. Thank you. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 1, 2013 Posted October 1, 2013 Roll up the EOP, zip and attach your file here. Mirror as New Solid and then use the Move Body command. You can then Combine if desired. Quote
Faouweb Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 When i use Mirror as New Solid I can't select what I want. I'm tryng to attach the file (1mb) but it does not want to upload i don't know why, I'll try again at home. Thank you. Quote
JD Mather Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 Find the red End of Part marker in the browser. (End of Folded on sheet metal parts EOF) Drag the red EOP to the top of the browser hiding all features. Save the file with the EOP in a rolled up state. Right click on the file name and select Send to Compressed (zipped) Folder. Attach the resulting *.zip file here. Quote
Faouweb Posted October 2, 2013 Author Posted October 2, 2013 Here is the file. I use Inventor Pro 2013 Thank you Instrument.zip Quote
JD Mather Posted October 2, 2013 Posted October 2, 2013 You are doing way too much work in creating your features. And you shouldn't need any extra workplanes or axis for this geometry. Are you aware that you can have multiple solid bodies in a single part file? You should have selected the New Solid option with Extrusion 27, then the handle would be a separate solid body (I did this for you in attached file). Well now I can't seem to upload the fixed part. Here is what you need to do: Edit Extrusion 27 and select New Solid. Then edit each feature (in order of history) that was part of the handle and select Solid and pick Extrusion 27 so that the feature becomes part of the handle solid body. Now you can mirror the one handle solid body as a new solid and then Move Body. Quote
Faouweb Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Thank you very much JD-Mather, I have learned a lot Quote
JD Mather Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I wish I had time to remodel this part from scratch to show you how I would do the model. You are doing extra work - but the sketches are fully constrained and the geometry looks good. ...and you apparently figured out my instructions with little information to go on. Quote
Faouweb Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Here is an exemple Very helpfull tool. Quote
