iainlines Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Back in the old days of learning 3D (a decade or more ago) I was taught to have 3 viewports in modelspace, a plan, a front and an isometric. If I do any 3D, which is rare, I now longer do this choosing instead to work in isometric and change the view as required. However, an old 3D template of mine still is set up the old school way and whilst using it this morning I noticed the UCS did not react the way I expected it to. When moving or rotating the UCS in one view the change was not reflected in the other two. In fact the UCS would stay as it was. Could someone let me know the system variable I need to change to have the UCS react in all 3 views? This is just for my own satisfaction as I don't like the fact I can't remember! THanks Iain Quote
Dadgad Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 Try going into your SYSVDLG and read up on these different UCS system variable options, and see which way seems how you want it to be. Too busy right now to figure it out. You can very easily access multiple viewport configurations by using the VIEWPORT controls, in the upper left hand corner of an active viewport. There are many different ready to use multiple viewport configurations. Also available on the VIEW toolbar or Panel. Quote
iainlines Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Thanks Dadgad. I am having a bit of a play around with it. UCSVIEW works in so much that coordinate entry geometry appears in the correct place in all 3 views but if I move the UCS in one view the other views do not correspond. In other words it's like I have 3 UCS positions. I know this is a bit basic but it's bugging me Quote
Dadgad Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 (edited) Maybe what you are after is UCSORTHO or UCSFOLLOW set to 1. Once you access the SYSVDLG you can just scroll down that list with your keyboard arrows, and you will quickly see what options are available. Edited October 4, 2013 by Dadgad Quote
iainlines Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 I'll keep messing untilI get the desired results....which I am sure probably exist! Cheers Quote
ReMark Posted October 4, 2013 Posted October 4, 2013 I have a suggestion. Why not change the drawing you are working on to just one viewport since that is the way you are currently used to? Quote
iainlines Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 I have and the drawing is now complete. It just bothers me as I'm sure this used to work way back when Quote
iainlines Posted October 4, 2013 Author Posted October 4, 2013 Bang on the money Steven, thanks mate!! Quote
