tbaccich Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Is there a way that i can insert a JPEG (or another format) image into the background of cad? All i want to do is trace a few shapes so that I have the rough dimensions (doesnt need to be exact). I have Cad LT 2008. Thanks! Quote
BOB'27T Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Try using this method: http://www.cadforum.cz/cadforum_en/qaID.asp?tip=3254 Quote
tbaccich Posted November 25, 2008 Author Posted November 25, 2008 Thank you for your help. When i type image in the command line the External References window opens then I am supposed to press Alt+A? Nothing appears to happen when I do this.... I've tried to simply copy and paste a JPEG image into the background of Cad but it stretches the image out of proportion. I need it in cad at the same dimensions proportionally as the original jpeg image... Thanks again for your help! Quote
papagyi Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Did you type "imageattach" in command line?Pls check it! Quote
rgarjr Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 The easiest way is to just drag the JPEG file right into the Autocad drawing area, give it its location, scale, and all that other stuff. Quote
smorales02 Posted November 25, 2008 Posted November 25, 2008 Why not just type "image" than hit attach and browse to the directory???? Im I missing something here? Quote
Tankman Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 After the image is in your drawing, scale to a known dimension; i.e.: suppose you know the diameter is 96" but, when you measure the result is 48" Ø. Scale '2', the measurement is now 96" Ø. Modify image set into background. I use '05 and sometimes '07 both are full versions. Don't know is LT has this feature. Quote
