Index for Civil Drawings

Hi all

 

I am new to this forum but hope someone is able to steer me in the right path. I am working for an international humanitarian agency in Pakistan and we have a number of infrastructure projects happening in small civil engineering works in the areas along the Afghan border region. I am looking to engage a local civil firm to provide us technical support in doing some of our larger projects. We have over the years built up a whole collection of detail drawings for different small structures. I have been tasked with getting our system ready to hand over to the consultants. As it is, we do not have any filing system as such and the designers rely a lot on knowing where drawings are or spend a large amount of time re-inventing these details

 

Can any one guide me as to where I might find a suitable hierarchical index suitable for small scale engineering works at next to no cost? This is meant to be a shortcut to me having to build it from scratch.

Sounds like you need to do some house keeping, our libraries are under 1 directory but have multiple sub groups containing similar blocks, using tool palletes you could then create a menu system for choosing a approriate block to be used.
