Quality issue plotting to PDF using Bluebeam Revu 11

Hello all,

I'm in my final semester of my architecture program and as such I am required to present a design to a panel of real licensed architects as my thesis. I'm having a difficult time producing high resolution PDFs using AutoCAD 2014 and Bluebeam Revu 11 Extreme. When I'm in CAD about to plot, I was sure to change the quality to 600 dpi. Before I hit plot I always preview the dwg and it looks fantastic but when I actually go to plot the file it comes out in a horrific resolution (so bad that you cannot read any of my text).

Am I missing something? Also, both software are student versions. Could this be my issue? :ouch:

Thanks!!

EDIT: I should mention that I am plotting on Arch D sized paper... Nothing too crazy though.

Why are you trying to create an arch D size PDF with a resolution of 600 dpi

If your file size is anything less than 25 MB, then I dont think you are doing what you think you are doing.

OK, never mind. I was thinking about image files. (i've been working with TIFFs lateley and page size is linked to file size) In Autocad, My curent PDF plot setting is at 600 dpi, but it is in the default vector mode, so that pdf files are generally the same size regardlesss of the paper size.

Are you creating your PDF files in raster mode?

Try plotting it out in Vector mode.

Definitely plotting in raster then. The plot quality is too poor to be a vector image.

For now I have a work around. I use AutoCAD's on-board DWG to PDF plotter and it comes out beautiful.

Does anyone know why Adobe and BlueBeam is botching it? (How do I make them plot in vector?)
