PaulS00 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Hello, So I have a grading plan that is going to be submitted for review today and the surface won't show up. I switched to a different style and it shows up, such as contours and triangles, but when I switch it to the appropriate style, only the border shows up. The 2'/10' contours show up, but we are using 0.25' and 1' contours. I double checked the appropriate layers and they are all turned on. Help! Quote
BlackBox Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 If the target layers are on, and thawed in Layer Manager, double check the Display tab of your Surface Style's Properties... Sounds like those may not be configured properly. HTH Quote
Tyke Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 It's definitely the Surface Style's Properties that is causing the problem. It sounds like you are checking one Surface Style but your surface has another style assigned to it. Click on your surface and look in the Properties Palette to see which style it has assigned to it. Then either change the surface style to that that you want to use or edit the Surface Style's Properties to reflect the properties that you want to use. I cannot be more precise at the moment as I do not have access to Civil 3D here and I shall not be in the office tomorrow. If that doesn't help I'm sure Blackbox will pull something out of the bag for you. Styles in C3D are a huge problem for a whole load of people, even very experienced ones, so don't feel too bad about it. Quote
PaulS00 Posted November 14, 2013 Author Posted November 14, 2013 I figured it out. The surface was smoothed and the engineer wanted 0.25' and 1' contours. Once I deleted the smoothing, the contours reappeared. Then, instead of applying the smoothing to the surface, I used the smoothing settings in the style editor. Quote
BlackBox Posted November 14, 2013 Posted November 14, 2013 Thanks for posting the solution to your problem... Glad you got it sorted. Quote
