stevsmith Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Hi guys, Does anyone have a definitive method for ECN, ECR and ECO process's you currently have that I could use for reference. We are looking to implement Enterprise PDM within the next few months and currently I am working on the new revision management processes. I have attached a copy of a workflow. If anyone is willing to share it would be a great help. Thanks 1 - ECR Process.zip. Quote
Organic Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 Those flow charts seem like overkill to me Quote
stevsmith Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 Those flow charts seem like overkill to me Probably just looks bad because I've included the documentation processes as well. If you take them out, it's not as bad as you think. (I hope) Also, sometimes people require everything to be laid out so they understand (if you get my meaning) Quote
ReMark Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 We utilize ECN's but since I'm near the end of the line I don't pay much attention to the flow of paper. I can look into upon my return to work on Monday although I might be able to get some info from my department head today. Quote
stevsmith Posted November 22, 2013 Author Posted November 22, 2013 That would be fantastic ReMark. I'm assuming that you personally don't need to create the ECN package. You're more the implementer of the changes (CAD associated) Quote
ReMark Posted November 22, 2013 Posted November 22, 2013 That's right Steve although I have written a handful of ECN's over the years but they are so few and far between. I'm responsible for making sure that drawings that have to be changed as a result of an ECN are revised accordingly as well as for updating the drawing database (revision date and reason for revision) and the equipment (tag number) database gets updated. Once I sign off on those three entries I pass the ECN back to the process engineer who initiated it. Steve: I emailed my boss just a few minutes ago. Let's see what happens. Quote
ReMark Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 So what's up with the bump? Looking for other examples of ECN's and alike? Quote
stevsmith Posted November 26, 2013 Author Posted November 26, 2013 So what's up with the bump? Looking for other examples of ECN's and alike? Yeah, you are the only person to reply ReMark. As I'm sure you can appreciate, it's always nice to have several examples for comparison. Quote
ReMark Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I thought you'd get at least one more but no luck huh. Darn. Yes, the ability to compare procedures would be a plus. Well, good luck trying to catch another fish. Quote
