Rectangular Array with many features. Slow process.

I have an array that replicates to about 8000 occurances. This is very taxing on my laptop. Is there a way to optimize this? I tried switching to wire-frame without hidden lines but it is still very time consuming. Thanks.

(a) Don't use a laptop for something like this. They don't have good thermal controls, and you WILL burn it up pushing it like that for long periods of time. (Yes, I speak from experience, running FEA in Inventor 2011.)

(b) 8000 occurances would be pretty time consuming on my i7-4770k, too.
