ksperopoulos Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Why is it that when I try to modify an image (PNG file) for one of my ribbon buttons, it will not take effect until I change the actual name of the PNG file? If I modify the PNG file, save it with the same name, and then verify if it updates in AutoCad, I find it does not update. Is there a way to clear the old image from memory? Quote
ksperopoulos Posted February 10, 2014 Author Posted February 10, 2014 Does anyone have any ideas for this? Quote
vimcruz Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Maybe it loads the image from resource file. That's my guess. I have this issue and my solution was to Edit->Import the new file. Quote
Tuns Posted February 11, 2014 Posted February 11, 2014 Update the picture from inside AutoCAD, not outside of it. Quote
ksperopoulos Posted February 11, 2014 Author Posted February 11, 2014 It's a PNG file and not a BMP. You can't import a PNG. Quote
ksperopoulos Posted February 12, 2014 Author Posted February 12, 2014 FYI - I just got an answer back from Autodesk about my issue. It seems that the PNG files are stored inside the CUIX files and the CUIX files can be opened from any ZIP program. If you want to update any of the PNG files, all you have to do is open the CUIX from a ZIP program and drag and drop the updated PNG files into the ZIP program's dialog window. I hope this helps anyone who likes to use PNG files instead of BMP files. Quote
