Hi all,

I've an idw in which I have a plan and a section. I want to open this file in Autocad for further use so I use "Save copy as" to convert it to a dwg-file. After opening this dwg in Autocad I notice the dimensions of my section have changed. Does anybody know what happened and how I can resolve this? Dimensions of my plan didn't change.

Thank you very much

Can you attach the file?

Did you check your dimension style settings? Maybe your using differnent unit format.

I don't think dimension scale changes actual dimension, but you could try playing with a few settings. Another thing you could try is checking the units of the dwg. type units, and change to meters/feet inches whatever you use.

there's a setvar called INSUNITS and another which escapes me at the moment

have a 'search' for INSUNITS and you should find a very informative thread or two on the matter

if all else fails, use SCALE and its reference function to bring the whole thing to the correct scale for you to work on

Thanks for your help. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to transmit my file. My problem is also a bit more complicated than expected cause only the dimensions of the cutted parts don't correspond with my plan. (And my section line is a polyline which consists of about 50 lines, don't know if this is relevant)

Anyway, I'll first try to find out what the problem really is and then maybe I'll come again...

Thanks again
