Casusa Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Hi. Is it possible to export configuraticions such as command abreviatures display colors, ctb files from Autocad 2005 from one desktop to one laptop with Autocad 2005 and 2014? Many thanks. Quote
ReMark Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Command abbreviations? If you are talking about the acad.pgp file there is no need to export it. You can either copy it to a flash drive, copy it to a network drive for downloading purposes or send it to yourself via email. Display colors. That's part of your Profile. Profiles can be exported. CTB files. They can be copied just like the acad.pgp file. Quote
Casusa Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 Hi thanks Remark. One more question the pgp file from 2005 is fully compatible with Autocad 2014? Quote
ReMark Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Yes. One word of caution though. Any new command aliases added after 2005 will be incorporated in the 2014 version of the same file. You could substitute your 2005 acad.pgp for the 2014 version and find that you are unable to access those commands because your file is too old. I'd do a file comparison first. Had you done it correctly the command aliases you changed or added to 2005 would be at the end of the file meaning you could copy/paste them into the 2014 acad.pgp file. Did you do it that way? Quote
Casusa Posted November 29, 2013 Author Posted November 29, 2013 Ok, i'll do it that way. Thanks. Quote
Casusa Posted December 2, 2013 Author Posted December 2, 2013 Hi. I can't find autocad.pgp on Autocad 2014!! Quote
Barneel Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Were you searching for autocad.pgp or acad.pgp? (acad.pgp is correct). Mine is located in: Program Files/Autodesk/AutoCAD 2014/UserDataCache/en-us/support Quote
ReMark Posted December 2, 2013 Posted December 2, 2013 Hi. I can't find autocad.pgp on Autocad 2014!! First it would help if you searched on the correct file name as previously mentioned. Second, you can find the exact location of acad.pgp by entering the following on the command line in AutoCAD (pretty sure we've mentioned this to you before): (findfile"acad.pgp") Then press the Enter key. AutoCAD will return the exact path to the file. Quote

ReMark Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 (edited) Why do I find myself thinking that you neglected to include the ( ) at either end? Tested in AutoCAD 2013. Your path may vary slightly. Command: (FINDFILE"ACAD.PGP") "C:\\Users\\yourcomputernamehere\\appdata\\roaming\\autodesk\\autocad 2014\\r19.1\\enu\\support\\ACAD.PGP" Edited December 3, 2013 by ReMark Quote
