CADMASTER1128 Posted December 20, 2013 Posted December 20, 2013 Good afternoon CADTutor, A colleague and I have been working hard to get a few projects completed by the end of the year (like most of you I am sure) however we both have been running into multiple issues with our drawings and CAD program. Me personally - I am running a HP z210 Workstation with 16 GB RAM - i7-2600 CPU @ 3.4 GHz w/ FIREBIRD w8000 Graphics Card, Windows 7 PRO (64-BIT) with AutoCAD 2013 I am getting "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Reading 0xffffffff Exception at 65611b30h" while I am working in a single drawing (always the same file) and working with Data Links. The weird part is this only occurs in the drawing only. My fellow designer is running: HP Compaq PRO 6300 SFF - i5-3470 @3.20 GHz - 8 GB RAM Windows 7 PRO (64-BIT) with AutoCAD 2012 He is getting the following Fatal Error - "FATAL ERROR: Unhandled Access Reading 0xe5c0ff50 Exception at e4a8d9a0h" I have searched online for these codes and could not find anything to match exactly. Does anyone have any suggestions? Quote
ReMark Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 For your problem I'd look at the drawing itself. Did you run the OVERKILL, -PURGE and AUDIT commands on it? Did you try removing the Datalink and see if that had an affect? As for your fellow designer does his fatal error occur when opening the same drawing, a different drawing, any drawing or every time he first opens AutoCAD? Quote
Dadgad Posted December 21, 2013 Posted December 21, 2013 I agree with ReMark, and be sure to use the -PURGE (including the hyphen), as it is the industrial strength version of the command. Once you have started the command, follow the leads in the attached commandline history. Command: -PURGE Enter type of unused objects to purge [blocks/DEtailviewstyles/Dimstyles/Groups/LAyers/LTypes/MAterials/MUltileaderstyles/Plotstyles/SHapes/textSTyles/Mlinestyles/SEctionviewstyles/Tablestyles/Visualstyles/Regapps/Zero-length geometry/Empty text objects/All]: R Enter name(s) to purge : Verify each name to be purged? You might want to set you ISAVEPERCENT to 0, and save it again, can't hurt, may further reduce your drawing size. Good luck getting them done. How do you like your HP? Quote
CADMASTER1128 Posted December 30, 2013 Author Posted December 30, 2013 For your problem I'd look at the drawing itself. Did you run the OVERKILL, -PURGE and AUDIT commands on it? Did you try removing the Datalink and see if that had an affect? ReMark - I do purge using a LISP that I have everyday when I leave work. I have tried removing the Datalink but that also causes the crash. As for your fellow designer does his fatal error occur when opening the same drawing, a different drawing, any drawing or every time he first opens AutoCAD? He was working in a different drawing, but his occurred when he hit SAVE. Quote
ReMark Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 Have you tested this drawing on another system to see if it causes AutoCAD to crash? Are you using xrefs? Did you Audit the drawing? Quote

He is what I was given ***119492 registered applications deleted*** Seems a little high if you ask me..... As far as the HP computer goes, I like it. It runs smooth but still boggs down on a few task (viewports and hatching). But so far it has been reliable. Personally I dont think it is an AutoCAD Certified card. Quote
ReMark Posted December 30, 2013 Posted December 30, 2013 119,492 registered applications seems a "little" high? No....that seems extremely high in my opinion. What is the drawing's file size? Quote

Dadgad Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 After you have reset your ISAVEPERCENT to zero you should do a final SAVE. It might not do anything, but is a good last step to make sure your drawing is as compact as it can be. Saw in your other post that you got your drawing done, glad to hear it. Happy New Year! Quote
