vertical horizons Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 I want to be able to assign a 2-letter shortcut to the keyboard commands. I have no problem assigning 1 letter, or even a "CTRL +" then a letter. I just go to - TOOLS > CUSTOMIZE > KEYBOARD. Then, scroll down to the command that you want to assign a letter to. My question is, how can you (or, is it even possible to) assign a 2-letter shortcut to a command? (i.e., xt for extend) Quote
vertical horizons Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 It should. There are several other CTRL+ commands already listed on the shortcut list. If I have to use CTRL+, then so be it. I was hoping to be able to keep the same shortcut keys that I use with AutoCAD. Quote
SLW210 Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 See if this article helps, you haven't indicated which version of Solidworks, this is from the 2013 help. http://help.solidworks.com/2013/English/SolidWorks/sldworks/t_assigning_shortcuts.htm?id=8d206f6aefca4524a3dc5f47bcb637c2#Pg0 Quote
vertical horizons Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 SLW210 - Thanks, I'll check it out. BTW, we are using Solidworks 2013. *************************** I checked out that link. It doesn't tell you how to make a 2-letter designation. Quote
Tiger Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Check the ACAD.pgp file it has a list of keys already set, I use defuns via autoload rather than cui set up a bit easier note you can use numbers also like 47 = osmode 47, 99 all snaps on. Solid Works Quote

vertical horizons Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 ...Press a key or key combination ... I can't place a 2nd letter into the shortcut column. For example, I want to use NT for a shortcut command. When I attempt to insert NT into the shortcut column, it gives me this. N,T When I attempt to use the shortcut NT, nothing happens. I have even tried N,T. Quote
SLW210 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 From what I have read going through the documentations on Solidworks, you can only do single key shortcuts, more than a single key and you need to use Ctrl, Alt, Shift, etc. Might be something to send in for future implementation. I did find this post at Solidworks forum that has a ZIP file with the available shortcuts already in Solidworks (at least for the 2011 version). https://forum.solidworks.com/thread/42889 Quote
