dsibbo Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 (edited) Hi, Can anyone help me with my tool palettes and more importantly the shift insertion point. At the moment when I use our company tool pallette and select a block when I insert it if I hit the CTRL key on my keyboard the insertion point jumps between all the points in my block be it stretch points, base points or basic points. If I create my own palette and add my blocks to it, the CTRL function doesn't work when I select a block. Can anyone give me any advice on how to make this work please? I may be missing steps somewhere? Edited January 22, 2014 by dsibbo Quote
edwinprakoso Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I think you are referring to multiple insertion point for your block. Have you seen this tip by Lynn Allen? Quote

Yes this is exactly what I mean but if I add my block to a tool palette then insert it from there I cant jump between insertion points by pressing CTRL. It just stays on the first point. If I insert it normally without the palette I can do it, just from the palette it won't allow me to. Any solutions? Quote
edwinprakoso Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 It works here. Have you tried to update the block in your tool palette? It could be a different block. Try to delete it from tool palette and add again with the one that works. Quote
rkent Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 If you insert your block from the tool palette and then explode it are you left with a block that works properly or after the explode are there only individual objects surviving? Quote

If I click on the block once it is inserted and exploded when entered it is still a block with its functions etc One thing I've noticed is that if I click the actual block in Design Center and Create Tool palette then it works correctly and allows me to jump between points. However I have 10 blocks in the folder so I click the folder and Create Tool Palette of Blocks. This way doesn't work but all the blocks are on one palette. I'm considering adding all blocks to one dwg and trying Create Tool Palette from this dwg to see what happens. So frustrating. Quote
dsibbo Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 To get this to work I inserted all my blocks into dwg files. For example all my power devices went on a power drawing. From here I created a tool palette and now when I insert them I get to toggle insertion points with CTRL key. Hope this helps others. Quote
