ohyahta Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Hi, I am trying to export it as *.stl So I typed "export" and typed filename as **.stl then command window says "select solids or watertight meshes" But I am not able to select it. I guess the model is not solid? Then How can I make it as solid model? I attached file. Please help me out.... THank you, test.dwg Quote
Cad64 Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 No, that is not a Solid. That is a collection of individual Surfaces. You should recreate the model using Solid editing commands. http://www.we-r-here.com/cad/tutorials/level_3/3-10.htm http://www.we-r-here.com/cad/tutorials/level_3/3-11.htm I have moved your question to the 3D modeling section. ReMark Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Here's your drawing back with solids. Union them if you'd like. Why is the cylinder on the left longer than the one on the right? Was that intentional? Test_ReMarks.dwg Quote
ohyahta Posted January 29, 2014 Author Posted January 29, 2014 thank you! um.. is there any way to create solid using existing surfaces? (Yes. one cylinder is longer than other one) Thank you again! Quote
ReMark Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Yes, if they are watertight. Use the SURFSCULPT command. I tried it on your model but it failed. Command: SURFSCULPT Mesh conversion set to: Smooth and optimized. Select surfaces or solids to sculpt into a solid: Specify opposite corner: 15 found Select surfaces or solids to sculpt into a solid: Modeling Operation Error: Operation did not add or remove material. Solid creation failed, no watertight volume detected. You could also use the THICKEN command which will give you a solid. Quote
ReMark Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Using the THICKEN command to create a solid. Your surface is on the right in green. You could use the same procedure on both your cylinders. Quote
