Karynlisa99 Posted February 2, 2014 Posted February 2, 2014 Please can someone explain how to take multiple A3 Layouts, and instead of having to plot and select each layout, can I select all the layouts and have them Pdf into one document. I have had a look at publish and tried to do it, but they are still printing as individual sheets. What exactly does the term "sheet sets" mean. Is this what I am trying to achieve or is this a different action? many thanks Quote
Dana W Posted February 3, 2014 Posted February 3, 2014 Use Batch Plot. Then on the publish options button of the batch plot dialog select pdf, select multi-sheet file. Don't forget to remove modelspace from your sheet list before you plot, unless you want it included. Right click the item in the list, select remove from thee resulting menu. 2009? That is a bit old, like mine. If, because of your older program, you can't select pdf in batch plot, then download AutoDesk DWG True View 2014 from the Autodesk sight. It is free and does a great job of publishing pdfs like you want. TruView can also convert newer, up to 2014, drawings back to 2007 version so you can use them, if you need to. Don't Batch plot in the background, it will take forever while the system keeps the plot job at lower run priority. Batch plot is on the Home tab of the ribbon in TrueView if you are not used to it, and are still running the classic workspace view in your 2009 program. When you open TrueView it will look totally naked. You have to click the program icon at the upper left to get a file menu. When the drawing opens it will then look exactly like AutoCad, except it will be in the ribbon workspace. No way to change that. You will see that your drawing has all the plot parameters that you gave it in AutoCad. You won't have to change a thing except the Batch Plot options, and if you want, the layout display background color. Quote

In my version (2013) set PUBLISH TO : to PDF and choose multi-sheet file in PUBLISH OPTIONS. If you use the PAGE SETUP option make sure the PDF driver is set to make multi-sheet .PDFs. Be aware the PUBLISH OPTIONS only affect the built in PUBLISH TO: .DWF/.PDF profiles. Quote

They are basically a separate file copy of your page layouts last saved to the sheet set. You still have to tell the machine how to plot them. Quote
