ibilleh Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Hello All, I have a company that are having a program, probably prepared in VB, to prepare the electrical single line diagram automatically. For example, let say that you have a main breaker of 100 Amps, 10 outgoing breakers 16 Amps and 6 outgoing breakers 20 Amps. The program asks for the main incomer, number and rating of the outgoings, then it automatically opens AutoCAD and draw the single line diagram. Anyone knows how to achieve this?? Quote
Luís Augusto Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Wow! In this I was curious. What is the program that does all this miracle? Could you tell me the name? I hope someone can help. Quote
ibilleh Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 Hello, it was called "AutoDraw" and it was developed at the factory. They had a programmer who used to make all the updates and additions on the blocks, which was pretty simple. With that program, an accountant can prepare drawings! imagine! I got a copy of the program, but I copies it from the directory, and its not working because it needs installation files which I don't have! Do you know any program name that do similar job?? Quote
ReMark Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 AutoDraw. Was that the autolisp program available at softonic? Quote
ibilleh Posted February 6, 2014 Author Posted February 6, 2014 No, the Autolist is only changing some properties in a standard drawing; you have fixed sheet with fixed components inside, the it changes the names, parameters, colors or whatever... but it does not insert pre-defined blocks in a drawing, number them in serial or even draw the external layout of the panel! Snownut Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 I don't think you'll get much help here, since you are not averse to pilfering what is obviously a proprietary product, for what appears to be a competitive use.... Quote
ReMark Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 So the program name has changed from AutoDraw to AutoList? Quote
ibilleh Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 No the Autolisp is something else, and it cannot do what I need. That program was created using VBA, it is so simple and tiny, all you need is to fill your database with your products. Then it opens AutoCAD and starts inserting the blocks in the sheets one after the other Quote
MSasu Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 it was called "AutoDraw" and it was developed at the factory. It may be an in-house development and the name just a coincidence with the commercial product. Quote
ReMark Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 Since the request is to have this done in VBA I'd say hire someone to do the job. Expecting someone to step forward and create such a program from scratch in VBA for free is asking a bit much in my opinion. Quote
ibilleh Posted February 7, 2014 Author Posted February 7, 2014 well he program is developed in-house as you said. my problem is that I have a copy, but not the installation files, so when I start it, it says "Runtime error 713 Class not registered" maybe I need the help of programmers in this. Anyhow, I used to work on the program myself, which is very simple to use and learn. I was wondering if someone knows an equivalent program. Quote
ReMark Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I don't know of an equivalent program. Trying to circumvent the problem with the program you currently have seems suspect at best. Let me ask, if your old company knew you were trying to use the program would they have any problem with that? If not then give them a call and nicely ask for the installation files. Quote
Tharwat Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 I am curious to see a video of what that program can do and the way it goes . Quote
MSasu Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 That would be quite difficult since is an in-house program that isn't clear how came into OP's possession and he/she isn't able to make it run. Quote
Snownut Posted February 7, 2014 Posted February 7, 2014 well he program is developed in-house as you said.Anyhow, I used to work on the program myself, which is very simple to use and learn. It doesn't appear that it was as simple as you seem to think. Maybe the use was very simple, since that is what the programmer was after. Since you seem to be unable to describe in detail just what it is the program actually did (haven't explained here yet anyway) Quote
MK_mep Posted November 4, 2021 Posted November 4, 2021 Hello, check this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKr9MO9oodI seems it will help you (I am not the author). Regards MK Quote
