bababarghi
Hi all, I have an old drawing containing 500+ blocks. Following is a screenshot of PURGE result: And here is Audit's result: Sadly, I still have some blocks in my drawing which cause AutoCAD to freeze whenever I click on their name in Insert Block window. I tried finding them through QuickSelect and possibly delete them but they won't appear in QuickSelect list Any idea how to clean up my drawing? ReMark
Is there any way you can provide us with a copy of the drawing?
bababarghi
Is there any way you can provide us with a copy of the drawing? Thanks for the reply ReMark. I am afraid I can't share the drawing because of its proprietary blocks.
ReMark
Erase these "proprietary" blocks and leave everything else. Save what's left under a different name and attach to your next post. Really, I could give two hoots about your blocks. It's the "bad" blocks you speak of that have piqued my interest. What program was used to create the drawing? What is the source of the "bad" blocks? I simply can't because they do not exist in actual drawing anymore, after purging them out, to wblock them for you. Using BLOCKICON command, I realised what blocks are causing the trouble for AutoCAD. There were only two of them out of 500+ and both were company old logos in different sizes (they include simple text and hatch only). I saved the DWG file as DXF and revert it back to a new DWG, now the problem is solved. What program was used to create the drawing? What is the source of the "bad" blocks? I don't know the answer to that as the drawing is 10 years old. Not quite sure. Once again, thanks for the replies ReMark. This topic is no longer in my interest.
