souvik Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Hi, I have a cross section which have Horizontal Scale 1:1000 and Vertical Scale 1:200. If I want to calculate the area of the cross section what I have to do? If I use -bo command an area is provided by CAD, but is the area correct on this scale? Please guide me.... Quote
RobDraw Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 The area will be wrong. You will have to adjust one of the scales in order to get the correct one. In model space, one of them should be drawn 1:1. Probably the easiest way to make the adjustment would be to make a block out of the entire drawing or just the area in question and adjust the X or Y scale appropriately. Quote
souvik Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 Thank you for reply sir. I have made the solution. Divide the horizontal scale by the vertical scale (here 1000/200 = 5). Extract the area. And further divide the area by the result of scale divide (Area/ HS/VS).. Quote
BIGAL Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Like robdraw make a block of cross sections change y scale then just rescale agin and area is true size 1:100H 1:50V change Y=0.5 scale block 0.01 areas now in sq metres Quote
