Dipali Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I have received this base file from someone to work. I completed the drawing & when tried to creat page set up for making pdf, when I open plot & or page setup manager dialoguebox, in plot style section it lists only stb plot styles. that too I don't think they have any custom plot style, only the auotcad inbuilt stb styles. now i want to selct my ctb file but it does not give an option. How to go about it. Quote
Dipali Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 How Can I Move This Thread To Drawing Management & Output Forum? Quote
Tiger Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 The mods can move it for you, don't think it's really a problem to keep it here though. There seem to be a lot of threads about ctb and stb-styles - search a bit, and a tip, search for ctb* or stb* since three-letter-combos are not allowed  Quote

I just want to be able to slect my ctb for maikng pdf out of this file, whaich I am not able to. Quote
dbroada Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 this one bugs me and I'm sure I've written the solution down somewhere I think its ConvertPSStyle I'll have a look and if its not I'll get back to you. Quote
Dipali Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 nearly right convertpstyles Thanks Lt does not recognise that command. I also read abut that command on some of the other threads before & knew it. but my guess is that it converts the ctb file into stb file. where as i just want the ctb files to apper as option in dropdown of plot style in 'PLOT' dialogue box. becaus eif my ctb gets converted to stb, than I have no knowledge aout how to use stb further if I have to edit somehting in that drawing in future. so I would like to stick to using ctb only. Tiger Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 are both the CTb and the STB saved in the same location on your computer? If you go into Options > Plot and Publish > Plot style table Settings, can you change anything there that makes a difference? Quote
Dipali Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 try changing PSTYLEPOLICY to 1 ? that was already set to 1. but to know about it more, I pressed F1 & while reading about it found out that I was trying 'convertpsstyle' but it is 'convertpstyles' so that command got inittiated & i got the message saying it has been done. when i went to plot dialoguebox it stil does not show me option to slect ctb files though. dbroada Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 have you tried re-openning the drawing. CONVERTPSTYLES says that it is the drawing that gets converted, it is possible that the drop down list only gets loaded when the drawing is first openned and therefore contains the wrong information. Dipali Posted December 2, 2008 Author Posted December 2, 2008 ok finally it worked. I don't know what was wrong, but after reopening the drawing as suggested, it still was showing stb only so I performed 'convertpstyles' once again & it worked. ''sigh of relief''' thank you everyone for helping. now can you all pop over to my other question & help ther as well...........Please Quote
dbroada Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 glad you're sorted. My heart always sinks when I get an stb drawing. I know it should be easy to convert, but I also know it never is. Quote

I know what you mean. now this poses another situation because the part i addded to the drawing looks perfect with my ctb but the existing bit does not, so will have to later my ctb file. but thats not a problem for me as i am working with ctb all the time & its very easy for me.
