jaff Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 I have been trying to get this dynamic block to work and it just wont do what I need it to do which is to rotate a leader to a 0 deg,90 deg, 180 deg, 270 deg and be able to stretch it ( see attached ). Also there is a little gap that I want to fill when I rotate the leader around my object. Any suggestions or help will be gladly appreciated. Thank you. Tuns Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) The leader wont stretch because it is a block itself. Explode the leader arrow in block editor and that will fix the problem. The reason it wont rotate is because your rotate action has no objects selected to rotate. There are also overlapping grips which makes it hard to work with. I'm working on it a bit to fix the issues you have. After I'm done, I will give the file back and you can ask any questions you'd like. Edited February 19, 2014 by Tuns Quote
jaff Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 SW Tag.dwgthanks Tuns, I have exploded the leader but the arrow on the leader doesn't work properly and it seems that for me rotate and stretch and rotate doesn't work together. I did a different option but I just want to simplify the block to a single operation. Quote
Tuns Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) Here is what I have so far so you can look at it: I'm just having a little trouble with the leader line. Other than that, it does exactly what you want. SW Tag problem 1.dwg Edited February 19, 2014 by Tuns Quote
steven-g Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 You just need to move your rotate grip in a bit (as Tuns suggested otherwise you can't pick the correct grip) and set it to only 90 degree increments, also remove the rotate parameter from the polar stretch or it gets wierd. And I shifted the end of the leader a bit so it touches the edge of the box when it is vertical. Then it should work. SW Tag problem 1 (1).dwg Quote
Tuns Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Oh, I used visibility states to do that. I just can't seem to get the leader to work like he wants it to. Though... I am a tad confused as to exactly what he wants, so I made it do everything I could think that he wants. Quote
jaff Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 I run into the same problem. Thanks Tuns and Steven-g for the help Quote
Tuns Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 (edited) I updated it, though I don't think I'll ever be able to make the leader work the way a leader should... Unless Steven knows a trick I don't to make it work like a leader line. SW Tag problem 1.dwg Edited February 19, 2014 by Tuns Quote
steven-g Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Tuns did you look at the one I posted? Quote
Tuns Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 No, I did not. Well don't use mine, use Steven's. His arrow thing works better. Oh, wow I just noticed I didn't even use a polar stretch on my block. I feel so retarded now. I updated the file in post #8 just because it was making me feel stupid just looking at it. Quote
jaff Posted February 19, 2014 Author Posted February 19, 2014 No worries Tuns.....Thanks again and thanks steven-g for your help. I really appreciate it. Quote
