scoutdog Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I have a two part question here. When I open some drawings. The layer control seems to be haywire. My example: Another guy here worked on a drawing and had all the layers set up for the grading, site, landscape, etc.... When I opened it every viewport was missing critical layers that were on from the other user. This has happened so far on two different drawings. It has required what should be unneccesary cleanup to bring it back to the previous state using previous saved files and creating and exporting out saved layer states. Could this be a system variable since it seems to only be my computer that is doing it? Visretain doesn't seem to be the culprit. Second part: Are the system variables set by drawing or by independant CAD stations? They look to be more on the side of drawing dependant. Any thoughts Thanks Kris Quote
Strix Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 I think the answer to that - as you can make profiles portable - is that some are drawing specific and some are user/machine specific Is your machine running a PURGE upon opening your drawings? I deliberately doctor my save button to include purge so I don't forget to do it Quote
Cad64 Posted December 2, 2008 Posted December 2, 2008 So you're using Land Desktop 2006? Is the other guy using the same program and version? Quote
wannabe Posted December 3, 2008 Posted December 3, 2008 Are there Xref's on the drawing? Are these layers related to Xref's? Quote
scoutdog Posted December 3, 2008 Author Posted December 3, 2008 We are using Carlson 2008 with AutoCAD. One of the drawings had Xrefs attatched and another had all entities in the one drawing. It seems to only be happening to drawings with multiple tabs. thanks kris Edit: I get this as soon as I open CAD Opening an AutoCAD 2004/LT 2004 format file. Regenerating model.
