Has anyone else had problems with objects snaps and grips? My problem is this….frequently when I hit a line, object or block and I go to do anything with it and think I have hit an intersection or any preset snap and I go to stretch or move et al. I later see that the snap point was slightly off. It can me minute but it is slightly off. Is it me or is there a setting that will correct this annoying issue?

Thanks

Turn the Autosnap marker on so you know for sure when you are on the mark. Options, Drafting, Autosnap settings, marker.

The best solution is to turn running osnaps off, the problem with them is even with them on you can grab anywhere, on an object or just in space. I use the F keys set to the most used osnaps because when you set them one at a time, picking in space will not work so the errant picks are eliminated.

What is your AUTOSNAP system variable set to?

Set to (63)

And yes "Autosnap Marker" was on.

So you would have seen the Osnap markers. Did you make sure that the desired marker was showing? I think that the Intersection marker is an "x"

yellow box or triangle. The problem is that the you can pick up the line or object slightly off of the highlighted snap point and you don't realize it until you do something with that item later and see that it is slight off of the point you intended. I think this is what rkent is talking about. But that (using F keys for snaps) seems defeating

I think that your problem lies there.

The box symbol is for an ENDPOINT, and a triangle is for a MIDPOINT.

Unless you are seeing a cross, then you are not picking up the Intersection point, as your tooltip will be telling you.

I was trying to find a picture of all the Osnap markers, but, as usual with the Help files, it is buried somewhere.

Here they are, to the left of each Osnap. (right under my nose)
