JHayes Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Does anyone know if I can set the tilde key on the top left of the keyboard to cancel commands like escape does? I got into CUI but I can't get it to work. Quote
Tuns Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 There is no way to get it to work. AutoCAD won't let you use tilde because that key is an "Invalid value." I don't know why either so I can't answer that. Quote
dbroada Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 the tilde can be used to bring up the file dialogue box after a FILEDIA=0. It may be reserved for that reason. Quote
Tuns Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 Well, there's your answer to what I didn't know. Quote
dbroada Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I'm was waiting for a "I set FILEDIA=0 and now I can't select my files" question. Quote
jnoltremari Posted March 18, 2014 Posted March 18, 2014 I use an app called "KeyTweak". It allows you to remap keyboard keys to any other key value. I know some people don't like the idea of using a key remapper, but it works fine for me. I set my tilde to be the delete key, so Esc and delete are right there together. Since I have to use feet and inches for my work, I set the + key on the number pad to be the foot symbol. It makes foot and inch input faster and much easier. I never use tilde for anything so losing that key didn't bother me, I remapped the + key because I have another + key next to the backspace key. All is well... Quote
