VIC842 Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 Hey Everyone I have to hire someone to create a Solidworks model from my CAD 3D Mechanical Model. What would be the best way to prepare for this in order to minimize his/her time and help efficiency in their model creation? My model is mainly extrusions and blocks, no xrefs... Didnt know if this made a difference... Thanks in advance for any help Vic Quote
JD Mather Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 How complex is the model? You can probably get someone to do it for free. Quote

VIC842 Posted March 26, 2014 Author Posted March 26, 2014 Regardless of what I have to pay them... Does it help if I exported some of the blocks as .SAT files? What do I need to do in order to get the information to this free employee we are speaking about? Quote
JD Mather Posted March 26, 2014 Posted March 26, 2014 No blocks - explode blocks. DWG would be good enough. if you want to test you could save as *.sat and then read the file back into a blank dwg and see exactly what they are going to see. (check for missing information - if you don't see it something, they won't see it either) Quote
