Hi guys, Im new here and im currently in a bit of a conundrum, I have picked heights for a road on site, points on either side of the road, The road has a closed loop and when Im tring to create a surface to produce a surface the triangulation crosses from one side to another, any help in using breaklines and/or boundaries because whatever im trying keeps on failing

First off I would say your survey data is woefully inadequate.

You should join ('string') your points together and make the string/polyline a breakline. E.g. join all your centreline points, join all your edge of bitumen points on the left side of the road, join all your edge of bitumen points on the right hand side of the road etc.

As for the tin/surface in the middle of the 'closed loop road' simply delete/null the triangles from the tin/surface in that region. See the image below for one way of doing this in Civil 3D.

Welcome to CADTutor, munesh. :)

I agree with Organic's apt comments, and can only offer the suggestion that you perhaps consider reading up on the Survey side of things a bit more, such as Description Keys, etc. so Civil 3D can generate some of this survey-related linework for you, when you import the survey data.

Hello munesh, I'm a surveyor too...and if you need a hand setting up a survey environment as BlackBox mentioned, I can help. rlshound
