Brandonhar Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I really want to know if anyone else out there is having similar issues with AutoCAD 2015 as our company? Where to start... 1. During dvd installation we get the attached screenshot at the end of the process. We're not getting this error on every install but the problem is when you go to re-install the program it say's it's already been installed. We go to uninstall it and it's not in the programs list to uninstall. So we have to perform a clean uninstall to get it to install. We have went through this process up to 4 times to get to install on one machine. There has been two instances where we get the attached failed install screen and the program actually installed. But as you can imagine all of the above leads too.... 2. Once installed we are having multiple users contact me with fatal errors, or just simple crashes with the error report dialog box. If this was just one person I really would think it was their hardware. At this point I'm really pointing fingers at Autodesk's installation files. We have talked with Autodesk and they've tried to help and had us uninstall C++ compenents, we did and it didn't help. We've installed all of the latest video drivers, and it didn't help either. We are at the point of halting the rest of our installations at this time and the users that are crashing two and three times per day have started using their 2014 seats instead. This is very frustrating due to the fact of the money that we've spent. Again, has anyone else had these issues or anything similar? Thanks, Quote
ReMark Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 I installed 2015 two days ago and had no problems but it was on a standalone (not networked) system. Did you disable the UAC prior to installing? Did you disable your anti-virus software before installing? If I had to choose between the two I'd say your problems stem from a corruption caused by your anti-virus software. Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted May 8, 2014 Posted May 8, 2014 Remark brings up something that may be having an effect - the UAC. From my experience as a software developer it might be something very simple. When you performed the installations did you launch the installer as an administrator? If so, it places certain files in locations that the user may not have access to. If that is the case try launching the installer as the user. UAC will prompt for admin credentials but the installer should place files where they belong for the user. Quote
BIGAL Posted May 9, 2014 Posted May 9, 2014 Just installed 2015 like Remark stand alone but I have been set up as an administrator so no problems almost. Only network problem we have is when number of seats is exceeded then autocad will not start but gives no messages so you dont know whats happening. Now problem for others on same theme 2015 install. 1 Auto registration is locked out for us so we do manual spent 20mins going around in circles when using link provide in install pages of help but no actual registration page found ! Logged into subscription and went to a page like autodesk\registration (will find) and got manual code instantly now running. 2 Video problem all installed and message comes up video card not supported, pretty simple screen resoulution is just not up to par, as we are a corporate we are told what we can have, now have to beg for new pc's but thats ok their 3 years old. Will keep testing for now. 3 Look and feel of 2015 some one may be able to help the toolbars placed vertically on sides of screen have grey background, to look at, absolute crap. Can not see toolbars correctly, any ideas ? 4 A new part of Config Files is the addition of Trusted locations as a option else every lisp will ask for permission to be opened. I use a lisp to set up this stuff posted elswhere a couple of days ago will update to include Trusted. 5 A positive added mnu's ran setup paths all works ok. 6 Major gripe not sure why took 14 mins to start, 2mins till Autocad screen, 4 till update notification, 6 till loading dll's etc, open dwt 1min wait wait . Same box 2014 1min 30secs. Quote
