I am new to this whole xdata thing so i would appreciate some assitance.

I have xdata information attached to blocks in my drawings that i would like to extract to a txt file by selecting it.

So for example user would press button or type command and then select blocks to get data from and then hit enter and the data would then be extracted to a txt file.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks

Here is an old snippet of LISP that allows you to expose the xdata of any object you select. From there you can decide how to manipulate the data.

(entget(car(entsel))'("*"))

I think there is an express tool pair for add/extract Xdata to/from an object.
