Comatosis Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 I did a quick search for this and did not find a thread made on it (though I probably suck at searching). Does anyone know where I could find a routine to mass edit a bunch of blocks? They're all multiple instances of the same block, in fact, and I want to change the same attribute on all of them (in this case, the layer the attribute text is on such that it plots with a thicker line weight). I am unaware of this functionality being innate to AutoCAD, but if there's some command I've overlooked, by all means throw it my way . Otherwise, I am not looking forward to editing each block, to a potential 600+ of them, and changing the layer individually. Thanks a bunch. TL;DR: This is an electrical one-line/riser diagram for a large installation, and each block is loaded with text. All I want to do is make the name of each piece of equipment more visible, hopefully via some automated process. Quote
ReMark Posted June 2, 2014 Posted June 2, 2014 Might take a look at Lee Mac's Attribute Modification Suite and see if that will fit your needs. Find it here.... http://www.lee-mac.com/attmodsuite.html Quote
Comatosis Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 I think I got it to work by changing the text style, though it would've been even more awesome if it let me change the color or layer of the attribute. Otherwise, it worked perfectly. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, and thanks to Lee for his excellent work as always. Quote
Comatosis Posted June 2, 2014 Author Posted June 2, 2014 Hmmn, the "Similar Threads" below pointed me to a command called ATTSYNC that did exactly what I wanted to do by modifying a single blank/template block. Maybe that's why Lee's routine didn't include this functionality, given that it's already in AutoCAD, heh. Once again, many thanks for the help. Quote
