ReMark Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 Will you be using plain AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D? How many cross-sections are required? Quote

Organic Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 You could draw points in AutoCad using the po point command and enter the x, y, z coordinates of each point, You could then join these points together with the pl polyline tool. Quote

Saqib_theleo Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 you did not answer the questions of ReMark & Organic that how many X-sections do you want to draw. and can you tell in which format do you have Distance and Level data. Quote
BIGAL Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 There is 3 parts to a cross section chainage, offset & level you can use excel to reorder these values and draw the line work, search here a bit harder pretty I am sure there is a cross section lisp. Re excel just look at the numbers you have you can draw a cross section full size then temporary block it and adjust the horizontal & vertical scales if required. Use the =concatenate command. Even doing 1 cross section at a time would be reasonably quick 110 -10 100.234 110 -8.5 100.345 110 -2.35 100.567 110 0.0 100.987 equates to Line -10,100.234 -8.5,100.345 -2.35,100.567 0.0,100.987 etc Quote
nawaz0346 Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 30 to 40 cross section want to draw...... levels in ft and distance also in ft Quote
nawaz0346 Posted June 18, 2014 Author Posted June 18, 2014 i have no lisp for making cross section... i need a lisp..in lisp distance..level... and datum required ..my levels r in ft. for example... distance 15.. level 724.10... Quote
LibertyOne Posted June 18, 2014 Posted June 18, 2014 @nawaz0346 You posted this question in the programming section of the forum. I think you should go to the AutoCAD section http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/forumdisplay.php?18-AutoCAD-Beginners-Area or a Mod should move this... Quote
BIGAL Posted June 20, 2014 Posted June 20, 2014 nawaz0346 when you look at what I posted above I gave an example of the data for us to help you, we need to know what your data consists of, can it be put in excel if so post a sample here just a couple of cross sections. I would also search here for posts by "YMG" he is developing a roads package and I have made recently some suggestions about level book entries to surface models. Quote
