slauer12 Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 I have finished a project and am trying to submit it and am having problems with trueview saying "Substituting [simplex.shx] for [other text type]". When I look in the folder where the file is saved the .shx file is there. When I open the file on trueview on my work computer where the file was last saved there is no issues at all. This only happens when I transfer it to a different computer with all the same files that are on my work computer. If I submit this project with these errors it will get kicked back to me so ignoring it is not the answer (I wish it was though). Would doing etransmit take care of my problems? I was not the person who created the file so not sure why the creator chose the fonts they did but now I have the problems of fixing and submitting. Any thoughts or ideas???? Thanks. Quote
Tiger Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) if you can submit it as an etransmit, that should work. I think you can go into the Text Styles and substitute the fonts yourself though, that might be the correctest solution. Not that correctest is a word...but still Edited June 10, 2014 by Tiger substitute is not submit...*doh Quote
slauer12 Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 I have all the text fonts in the same folder with the drawings and they are all referenced to find the text style there if thats what you mean by submit the fonts. I am trying the etransmit now to see if that works but I was trying to get other ideas while that was creating the file in case that dont work. Quote
Tiger Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 äsch, I shouldn't type while I talk - I meant substitute, not submit. Quote
slauer12 Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 I already did that with all the drawings and it fixed the problem on my work computer so now it no longer does it on there but when I view them in trueview on a different computer not on my work server it substitutes them. And I cant submit these files while it is doing that. Quote
dbroada Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 it is some time since I used etransmit but last time I did, the font files were not automatically included, you had to load them manually. Could this be the case here? Quote
slauer12 Posted June 10, 2014 Author Posted June 10, 2014 (edited) etransmit dont work. well i found the problem and it is that there are no .shx files but there are .ttf files is there a way to change these or some other way to fix it Edited June 10, 2014 by slauer12 Quote
Dana W Posted June 10, 2014 Posted June 10, 2014 etransmit dont work. well i found the problem and it is that there are no .shx files but there are .ttf files is there a way to change these or some other way to fix itYou have to manually change the font in your text style editor. Then, sometimes you have to select all the text and then click on the text style name in the drop down list, even after you regen, in order for all the text to change to the new font. It is possible that the folder paths on each computer/network are different, so AutoCad/TrueView is not even looking in the right place for them. TrueView and AutoCad can have different support path structures if they are different year releases. I had a similar problem with a custom font and a couple of custom plot styles, between AutoCad LT 2009 and Trueview 2014. I had to manually copy the custom stuff from the AutoCad support files to the TrueView support files. Quote
