tomqo Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 (edited) Hey, I need some help with this little project of mine, I want to create a short animation in some space pretty similar to this (excluding that boom effect or whatever it is): but I just cannot get to similar one, any ideas how to? Thanks a lot for any help. Sorry, if I am posting to wrong forum or anything. Edited June 14, 2014 by tomqo Quote
ReMark Posted June 14, 2014 Posted June 14, 2014 Are you referring to the weave-like pattern on all four sides? Quote

ReMark Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I've done a weave using 3D solids in AutoCAD but I would not recommend it for what you are attempting to do. I'd consider creating the basic geometry (open ended cube) then applying a material and include a bump map. Quote

Cad64 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I'd consider creating the basic geometry (open ended cube) then applying a material and include a bump map. This is the same recommendation that I would give. Since you're attempting to create an animation, you want to keep your poly count as low as possible. So just create the basic geometry and apply a texture map and a bump map or normal map. You could also use a displacement map, but that will increase your render times. Quote
Cad64 Posted June 15, 2014 Posted June 15, 2014 I just noticed you said "wireframe". You might be interested in this thread: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?42232-Wireframe-Rendering Quote
